Security Dog Handlers

Added security for your business when the need arises

An important element of our guarding services is security dog handlers. They play a crucial role in maintaining safety and security in a variety of environments, from airports and solar farms to events. These skilled professionals are trained in handling and working with specially trained security dogs, used to detect and respond to potential security threats.

Working as a team, the handlers and dogs have special skills in detecting potential dangers and making decisions that will keep everyone safe. Often working in partnership with the police and our Security Officers to protect your employees and the public. They play a critical role in safeguarding people and property, and their expertise is invaluable in many different situations.

Situations where you will benefit from security dog handlers

A dog patrol provides extra security in situations where there is an increased risk to a security officer on their own or the team. Security dog handlers can reduce the number of static Officers required for your site which is a cost-saving for your business. Dogs along with their handler will be alerted much earlier to any intruder activity than an alarm system or CCTV coverage.

Static guarding already gives you a visible deterrent on your site. A dog patrol unit will enhance your security as an effective crime prevention tactic. Instinctive and highly sensitive, security dogs will alert their handlers to a potential issue at a very early stage, in many cases before electronic systems. This enables the handler to investigate before a situation escalates.

Security dog handlers have a specialist guard dog vehicle, clearly marked and visible when attending your premises. Following an initial risk assessment, we can tailor our dog handling service to meet your specific needs. This could include occasional arbitrary patrols or daily dog-handling service.

Licensed security dog handlers

The National Association of Security Dog Users (NASDU) is recognised by the Security Industry Authority (SIA), the regulatory body for the private security industry. All our security officers are licensed by the SIA. The NASDU promote the adoption of national standards and maintains a code of practice on the care, health, safety and welfare of all security dogs.
